In 1995 the Government of Tunisia adopted the National Water Savings Program (PNEE) in order to save water, increase the efficiency of water use and increase agricultural productivity. Major investments were made in drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation and improved surface irrigation systems. The major goal of this project was to analyse the impact of investments in water savings technology during the PNEE.
