Irrigation is one of the most important uses of water, using around 60 percent of all the fresh water withdrawals in the world.  Irrigation plays a critical role in the production of enough food for the world's population. With rapidly growing water scarcity we need to enhance agricultural production. For this a paradigm shift is required to move from land to water productivity oriented water management.

IrriLook is an spatially distributed irrigation advisory tool that supports irrigation stakeholders in improving water productivity. IrriLook is a decision support system based on remote sensing data that monitors the within-field variation of crop and soil water status. By providing a weekly irrigation schedule for next week and monitor last week, irrigation managers know how, when and how much to irrigate.
