Complex satellite technology is now available to everyone! As a farmer you can monitor your crops throughout the growing season. The website FieldLook.com (MijnAkker.nl in dutch) provides 10 growth parameters related to growth, moisture and minerals:

Growth
- biomass production (kg/ha)
- CO2 intake (kg/ha)
- leaf area index LAI  (m2 leaf/m2 ground)
- vegetation index NDVI

Moisture
- evaporation shortage (mm/week)
- current evaporation (mm/week)
- surplus rain (mm/2 weeks)
- reference evaporation

Minerals
- Nitrogen content in the top leaf layer (kg/ha)
- Nitrogen content in all leafs (kg/ha)

FieldLook is currently available in the Netherlands, Belgium and Russia. WaterWatch is responsible for processing and interpretating the satellite imagery into the 10 growth parameters.

The ETLook algorithm in combination with composite MODIS images is capable of providing weekly updates on biomass production, biomass growth, crop evaporation, nitrogen content, and yield. Information was send directly to the user using the CropLook.com website.
