Remco (1970) joined the WaterWatch team in 2012. Remco is a geo-information architect and hydrologist with over 15 years of experience in the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) for Earth Sciences. His key interest is to use geo-information to improve the quality of life by converting science into innovative applications and products. He has experience in the fields of hydrology, (mobile)GIS, RS, data processing and modelling, data dissemination, geo-information architecture design and management and (web)cartography. He is a flexible team player who worked in various international multidisciplinary teams (ranging from student level teams to internationally recognised expert teams) in various countries (e.g. The Netherlands, Germany , Poland , Kenya , Bolivia , Rwanda , Yemen , Iran ). He has managed, co-organised and participated in complex projects, field campaigns and (university) research projects and teaching modules for various companies and organisations (e.g. UN, EU, ESA, the faculty for Geo-Information Sciences and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente, the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR)). Remco is a member of the strategic advisory board of the Erasmus Mundus geoinformation course and the SWOT (Surface Water Ocean Topography Mission) workgroup.
