The performance of the Office du Niger irrigation system was assessed based on different satellite derived indicators. Using satellite data, weak performing spots in the system could be identified allowing measures to be taken to improve irrigation management.

WaterWatch will train Office du Niger  on analysing and interpreting the maps of water management efficiency indicators in anticipation on the possible implementation of an operational Decision Support System (DSS) in the future. The results of this study will serve as course material in the training.
